I’m thrilled to announce that “Holistic Wealth Expanded and Updated“ has been awarded the prestigious title of BEST BOOK of the Year in the Self-help Motivational category by the American Book Fest Awards 2023. I am bursting with gratitude to all those who supported this journey by buying a copy of the book (some people bought multiple copies as gifts for family and friends), wrote reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, helped to spread the word about the book and of course, those who offered moral support and continued to cheer on the book even through the many barriers and hurdles that we faced. I am also filled with gratitude to Actress Kelly Rutherford, known for her remarkable roles in “Gossip Girl,” “Melrose Place,” and “Dynasty.” Kelly Rutherford’s words add a unique dimension to this book. Her forward is a testament to the collaborative power of creative minds and the importance of recognizing strong female voices across different domains.
It’s important to also acknowledge a painful truth—historically, female writers haven’t always received the recognition they deserve. This is especially so for under-represented female writers who face multiple barriers from publication to continued plagiarism and erasure of their work. Continuing to support and amplify female and marginalized voices is critically important.
The Journey of Holistic Wealth
Holistic Wealth Expanded and Updated delves deep into the themes of holistic well-being, cultivating resilience, overcoming disruption, and guiding readers on a path to a more fulfilled, balanced, and purposeful life. This book has touched the hearts and minds of many, transforming lives and igniting the spark of personal growth. It’s an honour to have this work acknowledged as the Best Book of the Year, but this achievement is a reminder that the literary world is not immune to gender disparities.
The Gender Gap in Literature
Historically, the literary world has been plagued with gender disparities, where the work of female writers often remained in the shadows, overlooked and underestimated. This gender gap has persisted for centuries, with women writers struggling to gain equal footing in an industry dominated by male voices. The recognition and acclaim they deserved were often overshadowed by bias and discrimination.
Breaking Barriers and Shattering Ceilings
The publication of the first book on Holistic Wealth in 2019, broke barriers and shattered glass ceilings. In celebrating the success of “Holistic Wealth,” we also celebrate the tireless efforts of female authors who have paved the way for recognition in the world of literature. Their determination, resilience, and unwavering dedication have led to a shift in the narrative.
The Global Holistic Wealth Movement
The recognition of “Holistic Wealth Expanded and Updated” as the Best Book of the Year is also a time of reflection on the journey. As a trained Economist, I coined the term Holistic Wealth with the publication of the first book on the subject back in 2019. That book led to the global holistic wealth movement, the holistic wealth podcast, the establishment of the Institute on Holistic Wealth and Global Holistic Wealth Day (celebrated every year on April 9th). The publication of the Holistic Wealth Workbook as well as the Holistic Wealth Expanded and Updated book have further cemented and popularized the term holistic wealth, which is now a global phenomenon.
