We are going to miss watching Arlene Dickinson on Dragons Den Canada. I have to admit its one of my favourite TV shows and Arlene was the sole female Dragon on the show. What I can say is that not only is she an inspiration to Canadian women of all walks of Life, she is the consummate female: Mother, Grandmother, Entrepreneur, Angel, Founder and Motivator. This morning at 1:30am on YOUInc Arlene announced on her blog that she would be leaving Dragons Den Canada, with the hashtag #someoneelsesturn, Arlene announced “It’s not an easy decision to leave this show, which is about so much more than entertainment. It’s about dreams, and having the courage to chase them. It’s been an incredible privilege to meet entrepreneurs from all over Canada, ranging in age from 6 to 86. They’ve brought comedy acts, drama, animals, food, props and crazy gimmicks to the Den, which makes for great television; but above all else they’ve bared their hearts and souls, their passion for and commitment to their own business ideas. Week after week, they’ve reminded me that success isn’t really about achieving your dreams–it’s about having the courage to pursue them in the first place. (Though I’m not going to lie: achieving them is pretty great, too.)”.
